چکیده
Abstract Objectives This study was aimed to investigate the diagnostic values of serum levels asprosin and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in Retinopathy prematurity (ROP) assess role these biomarkers on development progression condition. Methods carried out from April 2020 February 2021 department ophthalmology a tertiary hospital Turkey. Thirty patients diagnosed with ROP 30 healthy newborns were included study. Serum NGAL determined via ELISA. Results The median found be similar between group control (p=0.595). Median significantly higher [46.58 (12.70–142.28) ng/mL] compared subjects [13.05 (10.92–17.73) (p=0.001). optimal cut-off value by ROC analysis ng/mL (AUC: 0.754, p=0.001) for diagnosing ROP. positively correlated ALP inversely gestational week, uric acid AST (all, p<0.005). Conclusions Our results demonstrated that asprosin, but not NGAL, could biomarker diagnosis

Serum Levels of Interferon-Gamma in Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy
Background: In recent years, numerous studies have addressed the role of other factors, especially the immune system, on developing diabetic retinopathy. Given the role of interferons in regulating immune system activities, the present study was conducted to investigate serum levels of interferon-gamma in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Materials and Methods: The present research was condu...
متن کاملSerum Levels of Sialic Acid and Neuraminidase Activity in Cardiovascular, Diabetic and Diabetic Retinopathy Patients
Background: Sialic acid is a component of serum that is elevated in diseases such as diabetes and certain malignancies. The normal range of SSA concentration and serum neuraminidase activity in different populations are varied, probably due to racial differences. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to obtain the average SSA concentration and serum neuraminidase activity, in an Iran...

BACKGROUND Atherogenic lipoproteins, such as total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, oxidized low density lipoprotein, and triglycerides, are associated with progression of retinopathy. Aim. To evaluate the relationship between lipoprotein(a) and retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. MATERIALS AND METHODS We enrolled 145 diabetic consecutive patients (82 females, 63 males; mean a...
متن کاملRole of Serum Levels of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor and Its Receptor in Retinopathy of Prematurity
BACKGROUND Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a disorder of developing retina of low birth weight preterm infants which can lead to blindness. One theory attributes the fibrosis seen in ROP to deregulation of vascularization in the retina. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is one of the important mediators involved in vascularization. OBJECTIVES This study was carried out to assess t...
